Been lurking for a while, figured it was time to make it official. New cp16 owner. I love the boat. Next thing in order is thank you to all who contribute here, I have been learning a lot over the last month or so.  I'm looking forward to learning a great deal more, and contributing where I can.

Welcome!  Usual requests for location and any other pertinent info regarding your history with sailing.  Additionally, usual warning about being wary with regard to Bob23's feeble attempt to extort a new members fee from you.

Pay no attention to this Brackish dude, Sailor! Why, he can't even decide if he's fresh or salt water! Truth is, I am the self proclaimed czar of the CPYOA membership fees. It's a good investment, really. You may me the 5k in small unmarked bills, and I keep my NJ cousins Vito, Guido, and Tito out of your personal business. See? An offer you can't refuse!!
Oh, welcome, too!!!
Although I'm the happy owner of a 1985 23/2, I'm still on the lookout for a bargain 16, something I can trailer sail at different locations.

I've read Bob's spiel more than once. I like it. I think the man knows what he wants. I'm in Mayville NY my com pac 16 is hull #602. It is my second sailboat. First was a Lugar leeward. I sailed the Lugar on lake Erie, Chautauqua, and Bear locally. Compac has been on Erie and Chautauqua. I'm not an expert, I learn every time I'm out. The Compac inspires me. I'd love to sail it out the great lakes and down to Florida someday.  I've been told a 23 would be a better choice for such a trip, I've never even seen one yet! I'm looking forward to a com pac meet up, and sail sometime. Might even be able to organise something here. Chautauqua lake is quite desirable for sailing. Just had a huge thistle regatta here. Anyway, I've been getting to know this boat, and I've got a lot of questions still, so you may here some yet.
