Well, It's been about 2 weeks since I drove up to Lake Cayuga in NY state, and brought home Sweet Pea, my new (to me) Compac 19. She is hull #21.
In the 2 weeks, I've repaired the trailer's broken u-bolts and installed new lights, and passed inspection, successfully navigated the Maryland DNR to get the boat registered (long story involving pencil rubbings of the hull ID because the NY registration said A8V instead of ABV), emptied out the boat to see what all was present (found a nice spinnaker!) and practiced rigging the boat in the driveway. I found that I was missing a couple of fasteners, and had a broken sail slide, but was very happy to get things 100% in just one day, even if it did involve 3 trips to the boat supply store.
Next up is removing the old registration numbers, and putting on the new ones, getting a county sticker for the trailer, and hopefully getting her in the water before the end of the season!
