Releasing the leech tension line?

I tensioned up my leech line and I am having a hard time letting it back out.  I try to feed the line back into the jammer but it is rather tedious.  Any suggestions?

You should be able to pull the leech line down and out of the jam cleat? Or secure the line and push the jam cleat "up". There is nothing else in that leech pocket except the line.

Thanks GaryandJoan now that I am back to shore I can get a better handle on it.  I think your suggestion of pushing the jammer up in a twisting fashion just may work.  There is very little space between the nylon body of the jam cleat and the leech of the sail for the line to pass.  I was on Lake Champlain for 5 days straight cruising from anchor to anchor and really didn't have a chance to put my elbows into it.  Now that I am back on shore I will give that a try.
