I just came back from Bayfield, Wisconsin and had two nights of wonderful night sailing. If you plan on a night sail have the CLR during a full moon, it's great.

matt and i sailed yesterday on carlyle. fantastic day. we talked about "rounding the silo" and about changing the dates either to june or sept. i think in leu of a pursuit race we could sail as a fleet and "round the silo" if the wind is from the west or southwest. north wind would make for a long beat. yesterday we had maybe 13 or 14 knot winds out the the west so sailing the length of the lake took no time at all. so much depends on the weather. june can be stormy and september provides better wind sometimes too much. and if we get a full moon in there we will sail at night. a great experience for anyone who hasnt done it

Kick I was down at CSA yesterday, I will be putting in there for a week this month, anyway Bob heard about the clr and saw us all sailing. He indicated he would love to host the event at the club. Might be a good change, located more centrally on the lake, air conditioned clubhouse and pavilion with large grills, we would basically have the club to ourselves midweek. I am paying $10 a day for a slip and the grounds are fenced and gated. Just a thought.

I am up for anything but consider the lack of accommodations available at the club vrs the walking distance to the motel and restaurant from the marina to be a negative.  Since Carol came along this year, it was nice being able to walk to the boat leaving her the vehicle.  Just one variable to consider.  If I am by myself I will sleep in the boat and it will not matter.

yes that is a consideration and probably worth the extra 10 bucks a night. i havent talked to the harbormaster at csa yet anyway
