hi to all
just got a 1984 19 com-pac . have washed the hull and deck.
waxed the hull with 3M™ Marine Fiberglass Cleaner and Wax. worked great
my question what do i do with the non-slip surfaces on the deck won't the wax
get stuck it all those nooks and crannies ?

thanks skully

Hi skully,  I just gave my 16 its yearly cleanup waxing. I use a buffer with compound on the whole boat includeing the non-skid, then wax only the smooth surfaces. Mine looks brand new again.                                                                                                                        Bill

Skully:
Hi. Marine Tex makes a wax for non-skid surfaces. I believe it's called Traction Wax or something like that. They have a website but most of the dealers listed didn't carry it. Try shipstore.com- that's where I got it. A bit pricey but, hey, our Compacs are centainly worth it, eh?
I just received it and only tried it out on a small area-seems to work fine.
On another note, looks like I lauch Koinonia (1985 23/2) today. It's always an exciting day!

Hi guys,
Aurora Marine (based in Canada) has a website and also a non-skid wax that gets sticky when wet. It's a formula similar to the wax on surfboards. You can order it on line if you wish. I've tried it and it does work. I've finally just left my non skid natural since my deck isn't wet that much anyway.
