I have been researching boats the past several weeks. A love of sailing acted upon, is going to change in the near future.

I have a few questions, if I could get some advice:

Looking for an easy trailer/singlehand boat. (Mastendr seems perfect)
I am 6'4" 395lb
Will mostly be stationed out of Myrtle Beach, SC. But open to trailer for variety and fun events (regatta viewing, etc)
I have 3 boys (8,4,2), who I hope to teach a love for sailing. I caught the bug during summer camp on the Nuese in NC.

1) I have been Eyeing a CP Sunday Cat, it seems to fit all the needs.
2) Ideally, really, a requirement, I would want to sail a Sunday Cat to get a feel for its response to me and needs etc
3) Mid-Atlantic reputable CP dealers? I sent an email to CP and I got back some sketchy "exporter" trying to sell a BANANA yellow CP....
4) Dealer pushed accessories UNneed, options/accessories NEEDED.

Would like to find a barely used or dealer demo, but it seems that the CP Sunday Cat is very new and the Used market is very very slim...

Thanks for any and all advice.

Hello, you may wish to check out the used market. Most boats used would allow for sea trials before a purchase.

sort by length for easier browsing.

Good luck, also check out the Sunday Cat section on the forum for model specific advice. Can't help there.

Hey Wayne:
I recommend Keith Scott.  He is a ComPac dealer in Richlands NC.  He has sold me a C-16, C-23, Jaguar 23, and C-27 in the 80's.  He sold the C-27 for us and more recently a C-16.  I would call him up and then drive up to talk with him.  He is very knowledgeable in all things ComPac.  His website is

Good luck.

Wayne,
I second the recommendation regarding Keith Scott.
Good luck in your search!

I live in Wisconsin, and ordered my new boat from G Winters Sailing in NJ.  Excellent dealer, and I think you would get your absolute best deal thru them.
