Bruce:  Get the large oval deckpipe that others have posted about here.  Simple install and it is not too expensive.  It wasn't a bad job at all and I used my Dremel to cut the hole out for it.

Heave Too, yep that's the one I got. Not to hijack this thread, but can you send me a picture of how you located it?

Brackish: I like the general reasoning about the relocation and will follow your progress. I know you are a detail guy and planner, so I can avoid some of my usual do, undo, redo process by seeing what you do.

Cool; it's right up there, huh; easy to use from that position, I guess?

Oh, and which dremel bit did you use? I mean, a round one, or that long drillbit looking one?

It was the drill bit one for cutting.  It would have been better if you use a cutting guide for it.  I didn't have one so I sanded it some to get it nice.  I used butyle tape to bed it.

I was just thinking about butyl tape. I will need to find some or just use 4200. Thanks for the info!

Brackish, sorry about thread hijack.

Have you already figured out the hardware for the boom, and the traveller? I wonder the cost of all that!

That is where I got my butyle tape.  It is highly recommended.

Here is more information:

You can also buy tape from that site.

S'ok, this thing had about run its course anyway.  No, I haven't priced it recently and probably won't do it until summer.  I do most of my major projects in the summer when the sailing is no good.  It did price it a couple of years ago and while I can't remember the total, I believe Garhauer components gave the best deal.
