Teak Handrail (synthetic)

At the risk of offending purists. Has anyone tried replacing stock cp23 teak handrails with synthetic alternatives? My need to be redone and I'm wondering about refinishing options or possibly replacing with a synthetic alternative.

Don't need to replace but maybe if there was a web site might help folks to at least see such.

I read somewhere here at the site that someone tried synthetic decking to use instead of teak. I suppose it would work but I'd be concerned that the synthetic decking in such a narrow profile would break under load, the load being if you actually had to grab it! Plus, the real teak ones are not expensive and are not all that hard to maintain.

I am sure that other places have them available as well but you can see a comparison of things on one page.  You can find 1,2,4,5,6,7,10, and 11 loop handrails on this site.  I need to replace some 4 loop handrails on a project boat.  I like the low maintenance side for sure but the nicely finished teak on a boat is part of the romance.
