I'm looking for a new coupler for my CP 16 Magic Tilt trailer. The boat is a 97 and I believe the trailer is the same. The existing coupler is a Dutton, 2 inch channel width and 1&7/8 inch ball size, 2000 pound capacity. The connecting bolts are 3/8 at 2&1/2 center to center.

I looked at Fulton and Husky but the bolt spacing is 2&1/4 inch. Looked at Reese but the vertical location of the bolt holes did not match.

Could weld the Fulton to the channel or maybe buy a kit to rebuild the Dutton. Hoping someone has found a matching bolt on coupler for the little Magic Tilt.
Thanks.

If it were me, and it will be soon, I wouldn't weld it.  Welds don't deal with shock as well as a bolt.  I am sure you will be able to find a suitable replacement soon.  Personally, I have switched all of my trailer balls to 2 inch simply for convenience and had no trouble finding the correct replacement couplers.

This one might worK: Dutton-Lainson Trailer Coupler - DL23870

Problem I see is 2,000lb capacity.  It's enough for your needs but makes me wonder if a 3,500 rated model would be better.

Here is the link to it on e-trailer.com

I have a 1983 Hutchins trailer and rebuilt the coupler. I primed and painted the stamped metal and bought a kit to replace the hardware in the ball clamp. In your case maybe contact magic tilt direct, or use the Fulton replacement and redrill one set of holes on the coupler to match the trailer spacing.

I ordered the Dutton-Lainson coupler from Etrailer this morning. They are quick; it is on the way. Pretty good for Saturday. The bolt holes are 2.5 in. OC and the vertical dimension to the bolt holes looks like a match.

Thanks for the replies.
