So just realized the Compac 16 is no longer being offered

Guess I always presumed that the single most successful design that Hucthin's ever built would always be available, but is no longer being made? When did this occur? Are they able to do custom builds? We are now in a 23 but just hate to see the 16 discontinued and would hope they could still make them on request. There have been over 3,000 built and the value of those should reflect the fact that as some day they be a coveted item if truly done.

"No Mas", 1990, 23d, Mk3,  current boat: compact 16, Mk 1, our first boat.

I'm not sure when they were discontinued...maybe late 90's? Others here will know for sure. I'm also a 23 owner but I always am on the lookout for a lonely 16 that needs a good home. I've missed a few. The Admiral says I'll be court martialed, divorced and murdered if I come home with another boat. I think it might be more painful than she's letting on.

carry-on

Believe the 16 and the 19 were last produced in 2002.
There were 624 CP-19s and about 3000+ CP-16s.

The Legacy is a close replacement for the 16 and I suppose the Eclipse is the closest to the 19. All beautiful boats....As mentioned earlier today by another poster, allow some time at the ramp for "show and tell" because folks will ask about your ComPac.
$UM FUN TOO

So Bob23, If you want to get one and keep it down on the Bay, PeterG (sure he would agree!)and I will be glad to look after her. Mum's the word!

They are sweet little boats. Guess the Legacy has a few more creature comforts, but still really like the lines of the CP16. How many 23's to date? Gotta be well into the several hundreds.

Such a shame boats get ignored then abandoned. Hope someone restores her.

Bob23 you seeing this? They don't get much more lonely than this! Price is right. Up for trip to St Petersburg?

I did see this and am secretly on the lookout for an orphaned 16! To far.

You know, since you have been involved in this forum, my guess is that there are many forum members that would encourage and support a road trip! If you took the admiral to a warm clime this time of year there is a distinct possibility that her satisfaction levels and a "happen-stance" running into a boat just sitting there with a for sale sign might then lead to an adoption process to "rescue the poor thing".

just saying.....:)

Hi all, I have a 1983 16 that needs a new home. She's in good condition for her age, but will need new sails as the existing set are getting brittle. Also has an almost new Yamaha 6hp on a scissor mount. I just put brand new tires on the trailer. I live in Savannah, GA. Ping me if interested.

So Bob23, folks are trying to help you with adopting a CP16! You know you want one. Could set her up for rowing as well so the admiral will think she's not a sailboat. Exercise and all that.
