Welcome SeaDub!  We cut our teeth on a CP16. Sailed her for almost 7 years and was constantly impressed with her forgiving nature and her sea handling ability. A classic. You will find that launching may take longer than expected as folks will be asking questions about her!

This forum is a godsend for information and support. You will learn much here, including having a good sense of humor if you already don't have one!

We are now sailing her big sister a CP23.

Great idea on the stepping plates! That'll help!

No Mas, thanks for the welcome. Agreed on the spirit and knowledge of the folks on this forum!  The boat and this group are a winning combination and I've already learned more than I thought possible in such a short time just by reading posts and replies. Great boat, great group!

Congrats on bringing it home!  I saiLed miine for the first time Monday here in Cent.Ga.  Performed beautifully.  I'm sure you will enjoy yours too.
Fair winds!
If not now..When?

Bob, send it to the Admiral. I keep explaining to her why we need this, that or the other new part for the boat. She's pretty much perfected her eye roll.

Seadub

Dale, thanks for the welcome! Saw from your posts that you're in Macon and bought your boat in Tampa. My mom was born and raised in Macon, (she lived off on Euclid, off of Vineville) so I know the area pretty well. The rest of my family is in Bradenton on the Manatee River near Tampa Bay. Great sailing grounds! Sounds like you'll be a lake sailor mostly, just as we are.

SeaDub:
Good that your Admiral is still rolling her eyes. Mine glares at me with THAT look!

Mas

just remember that when you have more than one woman in your life you must rest them equally. So if you get an accessory for the boat, you must get one for the other woman! Particularly difficult in the holiday season.

Tyrin to think how i convince my wife of 36 years that she needs the chart plotter as well. Time and distance to the store, etc.!
