Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is John and I live in southern New Jersey. I grew up sailing, and now that I have more free time I am looking to purchase a Com pac 16. I am very happy to find this site and I can't wait to read some topics.
The reason for my handle is the DR ( Dominican Republic ) is my escape and 24 is the number of my condo. So if anyone sails the Caribbean I would love to chat.

Hello.

Welcome to the board.  Beware of Bob23 (He charges an initiation fee).

In all seriousness, this is a good place to learn about Compac boats and get information on them.  There is a lot of knowledge here so ask away!

Hi John. I also live in Southern NJ, the greatest state in the Union!! Where do you live? There are many here who haven't learned that NJ is a wonderful state. As a newbie, there is always some kind of initiation, it's usually cash to the tune of $5k of which I am the official collector. But you sound like a decent guy so instead of the cash, we're accepting your invitation to all of us to spend Christmas week with you down in the DR! You are a swell guy!!!
Let me know where you are...I'm in Southern Ocean County and sail Barnegat Bay with the boat (1985 23/2) moored in Surf City. Good to meet you. Some of the guys here seem to think I have mafia connections because of my Italian heritage and my being as NJ native. I think they watched too many Sorpranos episodes.

Welcome, John.
Best luck in your search.
Com-Pacs seem to be plentiful in the East.

Keep us posted!

Thanks to a certain New Jersey person, we'll probably never hear from John again...  Oh wait, perhaps he is checking to see how many of us he can put up over the holidays (or is that put up with...?).

John, I hope you enjoy the site as a lot of information can be gleaned here.  If you dare to come to the BBB 2015 (Barnegat Bay Bash) at the end of this month, you will actually get to meet the afore-mentioned curmudgeon in person (have the $5K ready, just in case).
