The motor has performed flawlessly.  No problems at all.  I motor out to the harbor about 10 minutes, go sailing, motor back about 10 minutes to the dock and I have 70--80% power left!  The motor certainly does not push me as fast as a gas outboard.  But it has not failed to start, and I have not gotten an error messages except early on when I had some problems screwing in the power cable, which you have to do every time you put the battery on the motor.  You do have to be careful screwing in the power cable, and there is a technique to do it, which I have figured out.  Now it is easy.
Earlier this week we went sailing in the evening.  We had not be out for a couple of weeks.  Got everything ready to go, screwed the power cable in and put the throttle in reverse....nothing happened.  I was really bummed out.  Thought there was a  problem with the motor or battery.  I unscrewed the cables, and redid them.  Tried to put it in reverse, and nothing happened.  Then I realized, I had not pushed the button to turn the motor on.  I was quite relieved, and the motor of course worked perfectly!
