OH, NO, Shawn is the devil!!  That boat is only three hours away and I need to go to Jackson this week anyway.  Wait, gotta run, I'll report later, here comes the Admiral swinging a baseball bat........"it's an investment honey, you'll just love it".....

Bob23

My admiral uses a 45! Longer range than a bat, she says. I might trade down to a sunfish!!!!

Shawn

Brackish,

Love spending other peoples money. :)

If I were still in the market and that was even a little near me I'd have already been over to check it out.

Same seller had two 23's listed last week, I think he is located just east of the Ross Barnett Reservoir. My redhead has me in a 12 step program; if I go within 12 steps of another boat..then unpleasant things happen to me..

Shawn

And a Compac 19, Helms 25, Catalina 22 and a Hurley. Whoever owned all these boats had quite the potential fleet....

the only thing holding me back is not being able to view it in person.

anyone in the area that could check this boat out?

ubid is rough quoting delivery around $800 if i purchase the available trailer.

Oriental, "The Sailing Capitol of North Carolina".

1985 Compac 19/II  "Miss Adventure"
1986 Seidelmann 295  "Sur La Mer"

For anyone considering it also think about the diesel. It is in unknown condition and if it needed replacement would be very expensive (figure 10-12k new)  unless converted to an outboard.

I could never buy a boat online,  sight unseen.  I guess I'm too cautious.

Well, I've asked twice starting four days ago for a specific location in Brandon where I can come inspect the boat before deciding to bid.  Those questions have not been answered.  Red flag?

Pretty much decided I can't handle another project right now, and I suspect this is truly a project boat.  Only place I can put it to do the project is on the family farm which is 300 miles away, (150 miles south of the boats current location) not all that convenient at this time.  Planning to move to that area, but not sure when, don't think I want another pending project sitting around.

Would be red flag for me too. Boat was listed here for under a thousand, so that makes me wonder too

I think that boats-used.com site is just an aggregator trying to increase content on that site. Hitting the Buy Boat buttons just brings you to the ebay auction.

Finally got an answer about specific location on the third request.  Too late for me, I needed to arrange some other business in Jackson in order to make the trip.  Hasn't met the reserve yet, and if it doesn't, I might try to plan that trip later.  For those that are interested:

280 Oakdale Road, Brandon, MS call me at 601-672-3912 and I will meet you.

Sold for the BIN price. Anyone here take the plunge?

Hi. We bought the cp19 from this guy. It was pretty accurately described in the auction description. I looked over the 23's and the 27 and found them all to be great deals. Each boat was in need of some work but the 27 and one of the 23's didn't look like they needed much. I'm am thrilled to have our little 19 and plan on bringing it back up to what it was when it was new. We got a smokin deal on it. The only drawback for me was the long ride from Florida to go get it but it was surely worth it. If this guy puts any more boats up on eBay I would not hesitate to recommend going for it. Mel is a very nice and extremely honest older gentleman and I just can't picture him misleading anyone.
