Greetings- Please allow me to introduce myself.  My wife and I recently retired and decided to try sailing again. We're in Jupiter Fl and spent the 80's in a 16' and the 90's in a 19' Compac. Sailing on the East coast of FL is just not worth the hassle and we found ourselves driving to Biscayne Bay or the keys so we sold the boat. It didn't take me long to decide what to get now that we have time.Due to physical limitations, I'm sure we'd use a Legacy more than we did our 19' just for convenience.  I'm contacting Hutchins this week to go over and see how the Legacy fits for comfort and ease of setup. We're looking forward to meeting some other East coast sailors with ideas for destinations. I plan to get dry storage near Port Charlotte and drive over a couple of times a month rather than have to get in line for more and more trains and bridges and inlets crowded with jetskis.
Thanks -Slider48

We have a Sun Cat. A 2001 but new to us. The convenience and ease of rigging is the boats sweet spot. We sailed bigger boats since 1970 and cruised for 5 years . In 2005 we retired from sailing but then got the bug again. We live in the middle of Florida so we trail to both coasts and the chain of lakes. Tried a Mariner, Potter 19 all too much trouble to rig and de-rig. The Sun cat is very easy and fast to get on the water.

We meet a lot with The West Coast Trailer Sailing Squadron. A great bunch who sail all over the state. http://ftp.ij.net/wctss/wctss/. Check the web site. And come sail with us.

Slider48,

Ditto what Tom said about the WCTSS.  They sail to Cayo Costa twice a year, and have an event in the planning for Punta Gorda.  Check us out.
