Well..
Because the date/time is uncertain for this event, I'm gonna play it safe and hoist a cold one this Saturday at high noon while sitting inside the covered "Koinoina" dreaming of warmer days, CLR, BBB, great friends, both ones I know and ones I've yet to meet, fair winds and whatever else comes to mind that I should be thankful for...quite a lot, me thinks. It's a fine day when one can be found sitting in a fine yacht with a nice beer contemplating the good things in life. The brew of choice will be Flying Fish Grand Cru Winter Harvest. Flying fish is a great local brewery located in Somerdale, NJ.

Well, I forgot to bring beer to the boat but I did participate with a little and I mean little nip of Gosslings. Yum.

Having a G&T now; planning on a work break tomorrow at 1:30 eastern to toast the Com-pac folks.

Even a little bit of Goslings is a great thing!

I had one also; this was more of a dispersion than a convergence, but hey, I thought of sailing and toasted the sailors.

the weather yesterday was beautiful!

before meeting matt for beers, steve and i went for a bike ride.

if you haven't been to carlyle lake, there are marked trails and roads going all around the lake for 65 miles.

of course, steve decided to take us to some unknown "bike paths".

well, not so much of a path as it was a quagmire.  steve was riding his mountain bike and his fat tires were more suited to the unkempt trail than the thin tires of my hybrid.

at one point i was thinking i should have worn a life jacket as water was rushing across the trail.  i saw something large and black to port and spied a black bear picking spawning trout from the stream.

ok, that may be a little exaggerated, but not by much.

when we were finally back to civilization, we swung past the marina and damn, if there wasn't a compac 16 out sailing!

steve left his calling card under their wiper blade with his contact info and a short description of CLR, so we may another 1st timer next year!

oh bob?  we did try to hoist a PBR in your honor, but the cute server said the restaurant had a reputation to uphold and was unable to supply us with "that swill".

when we explained it was for a fellow sailor from jersey, she laughed and inquired "seriously? you have a friend from there?"

the three of us nodded, and she promptly asked us to pay our checks and be on our way.

so bob, this year please do as you did at last years CLR.

ride with someone who doesn't have jersey plates on their vehicle.  bretz's is a tradition we'd like to keep.

Well. All this information leaves me quite aghast. The only question I have is did you get the servers #? or would you rather not say here in public.
Sorry if you tarnished your otherwise spotless reputation by admitting to a NJ friend. At least you didn't give my name. They might have banned you from town!

Sounds like a great bike ride. Anyone bringing bikes to CLR? 'Twould be fun after the dock party!
