Com Pac 14's

There were a total of 31 Com Pac 14's built in 1988 and 1989.  They are fractionally rigged sloops (~3/4) and have a head stay and one side stay at port and starboard.  They have a little motor pad aft to port.  They have a very nice centerboard trunk with a captured centerboard pin which allows for a multi-position adjustment of the draft of the board.  There is a hiking strap down the center of the cockpit.  Mine has a trailer.  Hull weight is 250 pounds.  More later.  Vic

Just over Christmas 2006 was an ad for a Com-Pac Raven in the Green Bay paper.
I don't know how long a Raven was, but I posted here.
On a trailer, very good condition was the claim. No motor. $1000 obo. It would
be good for a kid just out for a first sail boat.
Mine was a wood Penquin. No trailer but dad and I built one. $150. [1967? maybe
just starting HS].
Sailed it out and around the City of Chicago's fresh water intakes.
Three miles off shore in Lake Michigan right after I got this boat.

I think I saw that ad... if it's the same one, the thing had a gnarley bowsprit that looked really industrial (grey pipe)... I much prefer the stainless/teak. 

The Raven is basically a CP16 with a taller rig.  There were a couple of former owners on the "other" ComPac site... Also I think it had a CB and a masthead rig as opposed to the fractional rig of th e stock 16.  Supposedly they were faster...

Pretty cool boat though.
