Greetings

I am talking with a sail maker this weekend. My three partial batten pockets on the original sail (AirfForce 2003) are badly worn and need replacing. I am wondering if anyone has toyed with the idea of two full length upper battens with two partial lower battens to eliminate some twist, produce a better sail shape and increase light air performance. On Lake St. Clair in the summer, you often have to deal with less than 5 knots and plenty of power boats coming by for a look and producing wakes that make sailing in light air tedious.

Thanks,
Mike

I talked with a sailmaker in Pensacola about a full battened main sail.  He did not recommend it because of added weight and very little benefit for sailing. I don't know if a battened main that you describe would help.
