Hi fellow Com Pac Owners
I have owned my CP 16 for 31 years now. My 3 children have all grownup sailing on her on a local lake north of Pittsburgh Pa called Lake Aruther in Moraine State Park. She has been a great boat even have the original sails on her.
This past week I was in Florida moving my Daught and her husband to a new house in Clermont. Taking a break from moving we took a drive to a dealer in ST Peterburg too see want they had in inventory of Com Pac's. Having had a Knee and hip replacement and 4 major back surgeries , I need to up grade too a boat alittle bigger for more comfort and easy to setup and sail. We do keep the boat in a slip at the lake. It's been hard to get comfortable in the old girl.
At the time the dealer did not have much in inventory to see, but they were real nice  and called the factory and setup a tour with them.
Short drive to Clearwater we were meet by Gerry to take  us for the tour. Thirty one years ago before we bought our Cp16 we had a tour back then and could have been Gerry then. The tour was great seeing a CP 27  and a Suncat in the works. Gerry had me sit in the Suncat and a Sunday Cat . They are a very possible upgrade for me. In the back warehouse was the mold for the CP35. It was huge !!
The tour was great and I thank Gerry. Now to think of the upgrade for next season possble. The old girl will always stay in the family. She will be going to my Daught in Fl this fall.

Welcome! It doesn't get much easier than a SunCat! We loved ours. Easy(probably THE easiest) to rig, stable, roomy, comfortable and pretty. Not a speedster in very light air but above 8 knots they move very nicely. Capt Nemo, who sails here on Charlotte Harbor has his solution to light air performance, will be glad to post some pics I am sure. Gerry is a champ! The customer support from Compac is THE best!

Thank you for the in-fro on the Suncat. There is one two slips over from our CP16 with a dark green hull. Saturday we were hoping they would be there to talk to them about their boat when we were sailing ,but no show.
My wife is hard to make her make changes, we have 8 year old cell phones, but she seem to have some interst in the Suncat. Being very stable would be first on her list. When I push the old girl a little hard with a strong gust she has the cat claws out holding on. Before the end of the season, I hope to see the owners of the Suncat

The Admiral has the same feeling about heeling. Was a significant factor in the choice of the SunCat(and later the HC). The Suncat cabin is also substantially roomier than the 16. I am 6'2" 215 lbs and never felt cramped. Plenty of sitting headroom and ample bunk length.

I have sailed on a friend's SunCat in Charlotte Harbor and it is a sweet boat.  Set up is effortless.  I have a Eclipse and it might also be a good fit for you and the Admiral.  It has more room than the SunCat, has mastender system to make stepping the mast a piece of cake.  Very good manners and stability under sail.  Sails really well in just about any wind with a decent size main and a 115% Genoa.  Food for thought.  If you need any additional information on the Eclipse - yell.     Al
