bimini on a CP16

Here's an update on my bimini cover purchase.

I bought the  6' Length ENDURA Bimini with the "Performance Shield" grade top for $285 last week.
This week it is down to $270, oh well.
The height is called out as 36" which I believe is too high to run use with the sail and boom.

The product that showed up was branded as CARVER?  go figure.

I have done a temporary mount to the Jib track simply by adding 1/4" stainless machine screws which
hold the track at an angle and allow for a somewhat secure mount with the straps added,
but I am going to need to get another set of track cars to mount the frame properly.

I found a person name Dale Smith who has made some how-to photo sequences that are very informative.

I figured I would cut down the aluminum tubes once I figure out the required clearance, however, the
problem with this is the bimini components once folded will have different lengths and will not be able to be stored
in the zip-up bimini cover unless I modify all parts, successfully.

Any further insight by members of the board, would be appreciated.

Thanks

Since I'm REALLY handy - NOT - I asked my canvas lady for a price on a Bimini.  Sunbrella material, stainless steel bows, installed/custom fit $400.  Guess I didn't know what a good Price that is.

Can't you just cut the two tubes that attach to the boat to lower the overall height without affecting the alignment of the bows when folded? Looks like you could knock 12" off it that way. Or if the width of the bows are adjustable you could also mount it outside of the combing, which would knock another couple inches off, but might affect it's folding I guess.
