So what happened 6 years ago that we had 155 sailors on this site in a SINGLE DAY?  Or maybe; where did they go?

Bob23

Don't quote me on this but a while back, the site was down for what seemed like a long time. hacker-types came in and made a real mess. Maybe the magic 155 came back on when the site went live again. And how in the world did you even find that out? There are others who have better memories that can chime in...

Bob23,

Come on Bob, you're just playing dumb.

I know, 'cause having met you in person, you are indeed one smart dude.

Go to the very bottom line of the Forum Index Page and there it is "MOST EVER 155 ON MARCH 28, 2008".

LOL

AS BoB23 stated that is what happened. I have talked to a few who stated they didn't want any computer problems, so they never went on the site again.

I remember those few days of complete failure.
Lost a lot of posts.
You guys who run this thing did a super job of putting things right.

Speaking of running things, Washington DC wants to give control of the internet to an international commission.
Soooooo, then what happens? Who sensors what? It's 'our' invention. We should keep control.

You know who is going to make out like a bandit is Cisco Systems to the tune of $14.4 Trillion. Buy stock?

skip.

Just like the government, skip..trying to give away something they don't even own!

Oh yeah, now I see it. But I play a pretty good dumb, dontcha think?
That's a funny line about computer problems. The only way to avoid computer problems is to not own one.
