I plan on attending the Catboat Convention in Mystic, Conn. on Jan. 31 to Feb. 2. Perhaps there may be other Suncat owners out there who might attend also. If so, I hope to see you there. Kind regards, Steve (NUNKI)

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the heads-up.  It sounds interesting even for a non-catboat owner.  We are planning a trip out to Mystic in May just for a getaway.  It's a relatively short drive from Capital District.
Enjoy the event.

Here is a brief report on the The Catboat Association's 52nd Annual Meeting. We arrived on Friday, 1/31 in time for the Welcoming Reception and slide show. The show featured mostly New England style Cats. O Saturday. 2/1 we registered and enjoyed the workshops and vendor/resource show. They had workshops on Beginner and Advanced Catboat sailing; Cat Food sampling of Apps, Deserts & Drinks. One display included adapting an electric motor and long distance batteries to a Horizon Cat. Other talks included Gunkholing in Southern New England, a book presentation by Clinton Trowbridge, fun for kids, marlinspike seamanship and rope handling. Many vendors were present including Marshall, Fatty Knees, Beetle Cat, New England Boats, book sellers, hardware, pennant staffs, flags, West Marine and many others. All the boats were open cockpit types. The Beetle Cat was a restored boat from the factory. A full dinner was served at noon followed by the meeting, door prizes and awards. I learned a few things, met a lot of nice folks and had a great time. I wished a few Suncaters were there as a few are listed in the roster. Now I look forward to Spring and launching Nunki.
