Sailing Day in Albuquerque

Hey Hey.
Had a beautiful day today.  Just warm enough, just windy enough.  Waited until after lunch to head to the lake.  I do that a lot here, let the mountain decide what the weather will be up there before I head out.
Any way, I made a short video of the day.  Gives you a little taste of our local flavor.
Planning a trip to Santa Barbara so I needed a little shakedown cruise.  Need to fix the green thing (what we call the mast crutch), replace a cleat. and make a new sock for the forward end of the mast while it is on the trailer.  (keeps the fore stay turnbuckle from falling off on I40)  Other than that I need to give her a good bath and some sailing time under the California sun.

Last time out was Christmas Day.....

Cheers.

That was great! Thank you...just what I needed to see at 0330 hours on Monday morning while it's snowing outside. I really liked the shots showing the surrounding areas of your home port. Pretty cool...and a great day sailing.

Andrew,
Nice video...and a welcomed distraction to the NE weather we are having.  It was perfect timing on my part as we were just making plans to visit Albuquerque in the fall.  Looking at google map I didn't see to many blue spots and I was kinda of wondering where one would sail near Albuquerque.   What body of water were you sailing on?

Thanks,
-Allen

glad you liked the vid.  We sail Cochiti lake, about 50 miles north of Albuquerque. Because of a contract with the tribe, the lake never falls below the level on the vid. Because it leaks and floods sacred corn fields, it is never allowed to get full.  It will only get about 8 or ten feet higher if the river floods, then they are obliged to move the water downstream.  Nice spot though, pretty.
