Hello All,
My name is Chris and I'm the proud owner of a Suncat ("Second Wind") which I bought used in Philadelphia, PA a couple of years ago.  I live outside of Yellow Springs, Ohio which is near Dayton, OH. I spent considerable time getting the oxidation off and cleaning up the teak to my satisfaction.  I sail local lakes such as Indian Lake, Ceasers Creek, Buck Creek and Lake Erie.  I am looking forward to expanding my travels to other locations now that I have some experience under my belt.  I was a Hobie Cat owner/sailor before the Suncat. Right now I'm planning on attending the 2014 Suncat Regatta in Punta Gorda.  That's a long ways south.  I couldn't make it this year.  I would enjoy meeting up with other Suncat sailors in Ohio and Indiana.  Let me know if your out there.  I tried to add a picture but I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Thanks

Craig

Welcome to the forum! Hope you can make it to the Suncat nationals. Charlotte Harbor is a great place to sail. We liked it so much that we relocated to Punta Gorda! We had a Suncat prior to moving to a Horizon Cat. Both are fantastic boats! ;D

Chris,

Welcome to the Sun Cat Family. I'm sure you will enjoy sailing "Second Wind" and fully appreciate just how easy it is to rig, derig, launch, and recover.

I too am located on Charlotte Harbor, home of the Sun Cat Nationals, and look forward to meeting and sailing with you in 2014.

Welcome Chris:
If I didn't own a 23, the Suncat would be my next choice. My daughter used to live in Punta Gorda...when I visited her, I really liked the area. Not to mention Capt. Nemo's gracious hospitality! Again, welcome!

Craig,  I stopped by Laishley Park Marina on my way down to Marco Island the first week of December.  I was hoping to run into some Compac Cat folks while passing through.  Is your Horizon Cat harbored there?  If so I saw it. Beautiful boat! I chatted with the lady restoring the Ericson 31 across the dock from your boat.
I stopped in Punta Gorda a couple of years ago and that visit sold me on the Suncat.  During that visit I met Dick K.and motored out in the harbor area with him in his Suncat for a few minutes and I met Charlie and Isabelle and chatted with them on their Horizon Cat.  I'm looking forward to meeting you in the future.  Happy New Year!

Somehow I missed this until now. I'm in Columbus (Westerville) and sail Hoover Reservoir on a slipped Cp19. Would be fun to sail together sometime this summer. I attend the CLR event kicknbug mentioned too. About the only time I take the boat out during the season. Pm me and well get together sometime. Another CP19 here as well
