new sailing term

     yesterday sarah and i sailed carlyle lake. it was a super day 10 to 15 mph north east. anyway it was interesting as those of you who have sailed carlyle when the wind is out of the north---lots of waves and whitecaps. well as sometimes happens in these conditions the helmsman (me) began to daydream (its an age thing) as wasnt watching the water to see the puffs coming. sure enough a good one hit us abeam. to say the least i woke up. then my crew said--"that was a "rouge gust".  next time you talk to her, mention that will you

I had a short window of opportunity yesterday afternoon and got the CP16 over to Creve Couer lake in St Louis for about 90 minutes of sailing - winds were flukey and the time was way too short. Wish I would have had time to get over to Carlyle.

Hey, as any woman knows, a "rouge gust" is one that puts a little pink in your cheeks!  Very becoming it is, too.  :-)
