Then, there's this idea...

What a great deal!  Power the boat *and* maintain the yard...why didn't we think of that first?

LOL, I am not sure I would buy that specific motor, but that reminds me of a company that builds them........
They had videos running in extremely shallow areas kicking up weeds, and such, man where they awesome.

I had the LOL cause it looks almost homemade. maybe it isnt, but it sure looks like it. Good idea though if one ran across the right looking one.

I use a 50# thrust Minn Kota on my CP-16. (It also worked well on an MFG 19 similar to a CP-16).
I sail on a inland lake in North West Pennsylvania.  The trolling motor works great in my situation, it gets me in and out of the marina and enough to get back if the wind dies.   If you have to deal with currents, Tides and/or surf you may want to consider other more powerful choices.  Also remember you'll need a good deep cycle battery which also costs between $80 and $120.  I actually keep three in rotation through the summer.  Hope this helps

...and only $210!! What a bargain!
Plus you can do yard work to buy Guiness for the boat!

Sounds like a real quiet motor...what's next? Convert a blender to an outboard and still be able to make Margaritas with it?

The Weed Eater trolling motor is quite possibly the worst idea I have ever seen for powering a boat.

I often hear sailors say they want larger motors so they can run headlong into strong wind.

Any motor that will push a C 16 against a strong headwind would weigh far too much for everyday use.

Besides, if the wind is too strong to motor, I reef the main and sail.

However, oars or a medium thrust electric trolling motor should do the job nicely, especially when there is too little wind to sail.

Motor or row when the wind is too light to sail, sail when ther wind is too heavy to motor or row.

If the wind is too strong to sail in control, heave to or anchor until things settle down.
