Has anyone considered/used a nylon "drifter" for light air days on their 27? No poles, simpler than even a DRS but still a lotta lightwieght sail area for reaching/running.

I fly an asymmetrical and love it for off the wind sailing.  I run the sheet lines to harken carbo blocks tied to the base of the pushpit on each side.

Not trying to change the subject matter of your thread but since I made that comment I have been researching Top down furlers for asymetrical spinnakers.  They need a protrusion from the bow to be clear of all the clutter, and would be about $1000 for the 27.  This would be for the furler, furling line and the torque rope.   Ive also been looking into a removable bow sprit, there are ones that are premade but they are expensive and dont look that great.  I already have some extruded aluminum tubing but will have to do more work to see if this is feasible.

There are different furlers out there that look the same but the top down type is the only one I have found that doesnt require modification to the sail.   Check out Youtube for asymetrical furling, these things are sweet!
