Planning is underway for a Ron-Day-Voo for all Com-Pac owners on Smith Mountain Lake in SW VA.

I'm thinking of naming it the "SML ComPacShun 13"

There are 6 Com-Pacs that I know of on or near SML, (Citroen/Dave and Tom Morgan are two that are members here) but I can tell you there are many many within a three hour drive.

The date is tentative, but will need to be before Memorial Day to avoid the tour-roids that descend on our Jewel of the Blue Ridge each summer.

More info later.

Hmmm...only 13 hours driving time! :-\
How hard could that be?

The weekends of the 11th and 18th both avoid Mother's Day and Memorial Day....
I am only 4 hours away, due South!

Tim - you may already be aware, but Keith at the Sailboat Company is looking at similar dates in 2013 for a Com-Pac "mini cruise" from New Bern NC to River Dunes, north of Oriental. I know that he's also looking to avoid Mother's Day. Just fyi. I'd love to do both events if the dates don't collide.

I would love to take part in this if the date works out.  I ordered a Legacy and this would probably be our first chance to sail her after delivery.  I can't think for a better place to get to know the boat than among other Com-Pac sailors!  It's around a 5.5 hour drive for us but I think that will be doable.

Will most people spend the night on their boats?  Or will there be a hotel with slip space available?  This would be my first time at one of these events so I don't know how they generally work.
