Frost 2 nights ago....lots of leaves already turning colors.....darn!!  I'm planning a last cruise on the river here at home in a week from saturday to see the fall scenary before setting the suncat away for the season. Going to take a down jacket, heavy sleeping bag and use the oil lamp at night for a bit of heat. Always wanted a late river cruise but never got rd to it. Will be fun and I should have the river almost to myself. I'll post a pic or 2 after.

Happy to have you join us in North Carolina! One of our best sails last winter was New Years Day on Jordan Lake. Beautiful clear day, temps in the high 50s, nobody out there but sailboats and birds. Best feature of winter sailing here: no jet skis. Amazing how quiet it can be.

On the other hand, it was a pretty unpleasant summer - the daily menu choices seemed to be blazing hot with a side of dead calm, or heaping helping of thunderstorms. Would have been nice to be farther north. I guess you can't have it all.
