Wondering if there are any Com-Pac 16 or 19 Captains in the Northern Virginia/DC/suburban Maryland area.  I sail my Com-Pac 16 out of the Washington Sailing Marina....few other Com-Pacs there, but they all seem to be hibernating....

Captain Daren,

I visited the Washington Marina many times this past year by bike and sailed a time or two on the rental boats.  I wondered who owned those CP 16's.  Most are forlorn and forgotten but two look very nice, I hope one of those is yours.  Ron, the manager, has the first one in the lot with the blue tarp. He is looking for a buyer and I think might even pay someone to take it.  He was asking $500. It could be sailed as is and become a winter project for rebuilding . . .  It is a '77 and has a leaking deck and subsequent interior problems.

I just purchased a '87 CP 16/2 in Ohio and hope to launch in Smith Mountain Lakein Virginia, soon.  It would be sooner except my sweetheart broke her arm and will be in a cast for a month or two.  After that launch and shake down cruse, I will be trailering back up to DC where my kids and grand kids live.  I expect to do some Autumn sailing and overnight cruising with them during the fall season on the Potomac.  Perhaps we can get together and compare notes and boats and go for a sail into Washington!
