You're right. It's sorta on the list but nowhere near the top. Top of the list is "sail the boat as she is and enjoy it!"
While out today I passed everyone out there, most longer than our 23. Can't say it's me- the new sails produce the power and for some reason, most folks out there so far are sailing pretty conservatively.

Bob,

Sounds like a good plan to me. The spinnaker is fun but I have only used it a few times, glad I picked it up used. Most days there is more wind than I would want to try and fly it in.

For the very light wind days it will be interesting to see if I use the spinnaker or the drifter more. My guess is the drifter since it will work on more points of sail. The whisker pole should help it downwind, though I'm sure the spinnaker would do better as it is considerably larger.

Hi all I am a new member, my name is Andy, and this is my first post. I put a contract on a 5 year old Com-Pac 23 today and depending on the survey, etc. should be a Com-Pac boat owner soon. My wife and I drove down to see the boat last weekend and it was very clean and looked to be in excellent condition. It will be moved to Beaufort, SC where we live and moored at the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club where we are members.

It is nice to find this board and learn so many interesting things about Com-Pac boats. Thank you for inviting me.

Welcome Rob, and Andy too.

Fixed your pic, Shawn. Just had to change the <> to []  Nice spin.

Jason..I'll cut you a break.  Instead of going all the way to NJ to work on Bob's boat, I'm only half of the distance and 4 feet less to buff.
P.S.  A couple of CLR koozies are on the way to kicknbug for you.  Ya'll fun at CLR this year...we'll be there next year.

Salty, Thank you sir, sorry took me so long to respond, I literally just learned how to check the unread posts and such.........
The distance is a issue for me, so Bob23 will just have to wait until he moves closer, or comes to CLR so I can work on his boat for him, yours would be much easier for me to get too, and for this recovering lightning shock victim, and much easier job. LOL

My wife and I really do love the color of your boat...... you are lucky to have that one, stand out really well!

Well it is official, I now am the proud owner of a Com-Pac 23. The title was signed over on Monday and as soon as the trailer is ready she will be moved to her new home. Can't wait to get on the water and enjoy some sailing and exploring.
