Just a reminder, Gents:
The Spring sailboat show in Annapolis, MD is this weekend. Check out http://www.usboat.com/
Also, as noted on the site, is the Nautical Flea Market on Saturday and Sunday. I'm planning to be there for a very long day on Saturday. I did a search to determine the difference between a nautical flea and your everyday landlubber variety but came up with nothing. Maybe one of the great minds of the CPYOA can enlighten me.
Anyone planning to attend, why not PM me we can exchange cell number....maybe share some sailing lies over a cold beer.

change of plans:
After calculating that gas alone would cost me between 80 and 100 clams not to mention beer, tolls, beer, parking, beer and lunch, I've decided not to go. Besides, it looks like a good rowing day tomorrow after work. I really didn't need any nautical fleas anyway.

The difference is really quite simple.  The Nautical Flea can't go to windward.  Always stand upwind of a nautical flea!  Be warned though.  There is a sub-species called the Stinkpot Nautical Flea that has adapted and can go to windward very well.  Fortunately they are fairly loud and stink so they can easily be avoided.

Always there to help you Bob.

Where would I be without the wisdom and expansive knowledge of the fellow Compac-ers here at the site? Thanks so much, MG. I'll keep a look out for the Stinkpot Nautical Flea.
Instead of spending all those buck to look at boats that I'll never own, I had a great row in Manahawkin Bay averaging 3.95 knts. Pretty slow but it's early. Didn't see any fleas at all.
