I'm thinking about selling my 2000 Compac 19 XL as it's starting to get a little crowded as kids get bigger. My father bought this boat new back in 2000 and pretty much decked it out with everything you could get at the time. He only sailed it for 4-5 years before he couldn't get around on the boat any more. The boat then sat in a boat yard for sale for a couple of years before I brought it out to Annapolis, Md to sail it myself.

The boat is co-titled under both my father's and my name. My father passed away a couple of years ago so I will need to do a little paper work before selling the boat. Shouldn't be a problem though. Some of you may remember him, Ed Lodico, as I think he spent some time on this forum when he first bought the boat. He was pretty excited at the time.

It's got all factory standard equipment plus (as listed on the original custom order form):

Sternrail stanchions, lifelines
Sheet winches
Transom Boarding Ladder
Genoa tracks & cars
Roller Furl Headsail System
Vinyl Cabin Cushion
135% Genoa w/luff tape
Full Batten Mainsail Upgrade
Lazy Jacks
Halyard winch
Plow Anchor
Boom Vang
mainsail cover - blue - probably needs a few grommets as the original plastic clips are coming off. I use sail ties over the cover.
Stainless Steel Centerboard Unit

Custom Trailer with extension. Trailer is in great shape and is only used to pull, store and launch the boat. My father drove it about 20 miles  to it's winter storage and other than initial delivery and the trip from Ohio to Maryland, it hasn't been driven much. Tires, springs, etc. are all in good codition.

Center traveler and main sheet - I installed a traveler track that runs across the cockpit in front of the hatch. This helps greatly in upwind sailing especially in light air when compared to the factory rigged sheeting off the back of the boat. The hardware is still there if you would like to move it back to the original sheeting position.

Honda 5 horse four stroke long shaft motor which runs great. Pretty much starts on first pull even after winter storage.
Adjustable engine mount.

Exterior teak needs to be redone (exterior hatch and hand rails). Tiller still in great shape as it is includes a tiller cover. I have a tiller extension I purchased for the boat but never installed.

Professionally bottom painted and buffed at beginning of this season (June 2011).

All lights and electronics work or at least did last time I checked. The boat is dry and collects very little if any water in bilge.

The boat is on the trailer in my driveway in Annapolis at the moment. I pulled it when the hurricane came through in Sept. and haven't put it back in the water. One of the great things about this boat is the ease of pulling and launching the boat. Using the anchor rode and the halyard, I can pretty much raise and lower the mast myself although I usually grab somebody walking by to give me a hand.

It's also just a pretty little boat.

To be completely honest, I don't know how much this boat is worth but I have a minimum number in mind. Please feel free to contact me with any advice, interest or just to talk boats at jalodico@bizwritings.com.

Thanks,

Jim

If you're interested, best to contact the seller directly.  It's been posted for almost 2 months and the seller has only 1 post here, so probably not checking in too often.

O.K. So I've been sitting on this all winter and finally took pictures of the boat as I am ready to sell. Although I just swabbed the decks before taking these pics, I had trouble keeping up with the oak trees in my yard. They were dropping seeds faster than I could sweep them off.

Boat is pretty much as described below. Outside of hatch door and teak need to be redone. I also noticed a slight deck separation at the entrance to the hatch. From what I understand, this is fairly common. The interior screws are tight and it is dry. I may mix up a little Wes Sys and shoot it in there to seal it back up again.

Other than that, a very pretty little boat.

Salty19 is correct. I don't check in here often so it's best to contact me directly at jalodico@bizwritings.com.

I did receive some interest over the winter so I'll be emailing them as soon as I post this.

Thanks,

Jim Lodico

I just spoke to my mom and she said that the separation at the hatch started as soon as they bought the boat. It was repaired by Compac at the time but came apart again. As I said, the screws are tight and it is dry.
