I just received my Antique Vessel registration and sticker from Tallahassee.

It provides special antique status for vessels that are 30 years old and meet certain criteria for originality.

Qualifying vessels are exempt from annual registration fees and must only pay a nominal processing fee to keep current.

I thought that was something my fellow Florida sailors might be interested in because many of us are sailing older boats.

Good idea. My 1930 Ford 'A' has Wisconsin collector plates. I buy them one time, $60, and I own the plates. No additional fees required through the years unless I take my plates and attach them on to another motor car. Then the paper work has to be up dated. I'm guessing for a fee.

So just when did production start? How old is old? For you sailors with CP-16's, "it took two years of shaping the plug and getting it faired up perfectly, it took eight months to build the first boat that came out in 1974."
