Just bought a 30 amp power inlet for my 23.  Has anyone put their inlet somewhere that
they wish they hadn't?  I can't decide on it's location. Along the starboard side in the outside of the coaming
or in the back of the cockpit inside near the tiller. I'm almost always bow in at a dock.
Thanks
Rob

I didn't choose this location it was there when I got the boat, but this works fine for me.  Fairly short, hidden, but still accessible route to my 110 panel below the top companionway step.

My dock plug is actually on the port side, forward but my 25' SP cord reaches with just enough slack to keep it out of the water but allow for wind shifts at dock.  I have to feed it across the foredeck and loop it once on the bow pulpit.  (small avatar shows it)

Don't think I would want it in the cockpit.  I'm at the boat a lot when I'm still plugged in, seems like it would be in the way.

Mine is on the starboard side outer combing like brackish, but it is a little further aft. And like brackish, a previous owner put it there. It seems to work well, I can't think of any place that would work better. The only issue is the length of the cord and potential tripping hazard. You could move it further forward and mount at the start of the combing (or even cabin trunk), but it would be harder to hide the wiring inside and you would be more likely to dunk the outlet when you bury the rail.

yes, on the coaming it would get wet more often.  Tripping while coming aboard or walking around is also
something I was wondering about. IF the inlet were located in the cockpit aft then you could run the cord
on the opposite side of the finger pier and come in from the back of the boat to the inlet.  Wiring ease wouldn't
be a problem, I could hook it up before attaching the inlet to the boat.  The coaming location still seems to me
to be the best.
