Hello all:
On a 27 or 25 foot ComPac has anyone added additional insulation to the cooler (icebox)? Curious if you used sheets of insulation cut to fit the coolers outer walls and then glued them in place or perhaps used the spray stuff you can buy. How I normally use the cooler is I take four rectangular shaped gallon jugs, fill them with spring water and then freeze them solid. I place them in the lower section of the cooler with a trimmed down refrigerator shelf positioned just above them on the molded in ledge. This gives me 28 pounds of block ice for longer trips, and usually lasts three to four days. I really would like to get another day or two out of them before having to buy ice for the cooler. Once the ice in the bottles has melted and I have to buy ice for the cooler I then pour the spring water into the 2 gallon water jug I keep in the galley and the rest of it goes into the water tank. Just looking to get the factory icebox a little more efficient.
Thank you
Bruce

Block Island bound this week.........anyone up this way?

results...........
Looked at it today, cannot get at it whatsoever to add insulation, under the stove is sealed off and next to the draws is sealed off.......non serviceable, like the water tank in the bow, once the boat is built you cannot get at it. I'll just buy more ice and use my Coleman Extreme cooler for the perishables.
