Looking for CP 19 to purchase......
What year did Compac halt the 19 model  production?  Are all shoal draft keel design or are any centerboard design?
Thanks -

Billy

there were a few (maybe 50) made with a SS centerboard w/in the shoal keel.

scroll down a bit and you can see a young Gerry showing the centerboard.

The CP 19 IIIs were still in production in '93 and I think the XLs went until '98...i think.

Good luck finding a 19! I love mine. It is the perfect size! Where are you located?

I think the 19 stopped production in 2002. I have a note that only 73 were built between 1992 and 2002. The CB model started about 1998. Total production of CP-19s: 624 in twenty years. Can't bet the house on these numbers, but believe they are good.

Carry ons' figure look right. 624 Hulls we're made total.  1994 and later models will be hard to find and expensive.  There are several for sale on sailingtexas.com.. one is an XL and another is a version 3.  They are really worth the patience and a drive if necessary. Condition is more important than the year, IMHO

Thanks for the information!  I'm in the Alabama coastal area on a shallow river.  Used to sail/race a SouthCoast 23 in New Orleans growing up.  Moved to larger Catalina 34 with family/kids...sold it 8 years ago after anchoring/tying up for too many hurricanes (which it survived beautifully) but want to simplify with a sailboat at my back door and have looked longingly at ComPac boats for years.  Hope to find one soon.  Thanks for the help

There is a 1987 CP-19 on the Jacksonville ,Fl craigslist. It is a dark blue hull, don't know if it is factory blue or a rework. $4900 with trailer and old 6hp.
Could be interesting. About 400 miles from you.

I just recently purchased my first Com-Pac sailboat at 1989 19-III, hull #504.  All I can say is that I'm very happy I was patient and purchased a pretty nice one and a markIII as well.  I am doing a full clean-up and mild restoration, the more I spend with it the more I realize just how amazing these little (big) yachts really are.  It is really like a large yacht shrunk down into a very friendly size for those of us that don't have a home on the Chesapeake ,(yet).  The overall quality is very nice and easy to work on, thanks Gerry for building a nice handmade small yacht.  Just remember to enjoy the entire process of sailing, on and off the water.

Hi Keith,

Did you purchase David Serrel's old boat, Pachabella?  If so...very nice boat!!

There is a "third annual" com-pac rendezvous planned for early August in Illinois-about 3 hours from you depending on what side of Indy you live.  The post with all the information can be found here:

Hope to see you and your boat there!

Salty,
No I did not purchase that boat but I had seen it and yes it looked very nice.  BTW your 19 is very nice as well, I can tell you have given her a lot of love.  Did you by chance Awlgrip the decks and cockpit or is that original gelcoat?
Thanks,
Keith

Well, I have FINALLY joined the ComPac group officially!  Bought the overly expensive 19 XL on Maryland's Eastern Shore after coming to an agreement with owner.  Then had to have tires and NON-EXISTENT bearings replaced on trailer....and hauled her 1100 miles home to Alabama.  Doing the bottom at the moment  and hope to have her in the water by the weekend! Dock is at my back door so plan to be "out" often!  1998 - Hull 606.  Boat is in great shape - which I needed (couldn't handle a fixer upper at the moment)  Have been wanting one of these boats for about 10 years....... Your site is great and most helpful with questions and answers....hope to contribute along the way....thanks for the info!

Seawitch, congrats!  That is a very nice example of a CP19. Love the color.  My boat is hull # 603 and also a 1998.   I wish you many years of happiness with it.

KSburton, the teal color is factory gelcoat.  I asked Gerry about it, he mentioned this color was a one-off.  They only made one CPXX with this color and made only two CP19's with the stern rails seats. Got very lucky finding this boat.
