Hmmm...that ship and crew look curiously familiar. Could it be the infamous Capt PG and Admiral Becky, the feared pirates of Barnegat Bay sailing the warship "Beagle 2"?
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Cheers...are you around this weekend? Looks like the annual Black Friday Sail may have to be postponed 'till Saturday.

Beautiful boat, Peter.   Thanks for sharing.

One day I hope to live on/near big enough water where a CP25 or 27 would thrive.  But for now a small lake and 19 will have to do..

Nice pics! Love the doger... did it come with the boat or made custom?

Thanks for the compliment Capt Jim- the dodger (and the rest of the canvas) is the second set from new and was custom made a little differently from the original factory fitment. I modified the bimini frame, also, so it is self-supporting and does not require forward and aft straps to hold it up. The factory straps got in the way of cockpit ingress and egress.

Nice. I agree about the dodger, looks great. Makes me want to go outside, turn on the heater in the boat and tinker a bit.

Hi:
Just wanted to compliment you on your 27, great shape. One of the items you might consider adding that I bought from Hutchin's was a Dorad bar. I saw one on a newer ComPac 27 that was on Yacht World for sale. It looked so cool I had to get one. Turns out it has a safety function as well.. I was going forward one afternoon and the boat took a hit from a rouge wave and I started to loose my balance and fall so I graded for the nearest thing and it was the dorad bar, if it had not been there I might have gone over the side.....not good when your solo sailing !!!! It gives you another grab point in addition to the teak handrail as you go forward, and beside that it gives it the "big cruiser" boat look.

How much was a dorad bar? and how did you install it? Looks great .

Hi:
I believe it was three years ago and Hutchin's charged me $300 plus shipping if my memory serves me correct. It was out of stock so I had to wait a month or to for them to make another batch but it was well worth it. Mounts on the top and side surface of the fiberglass hood the dorades mount on. I could not get the hood off so I used the largest self tapping screws i could get thru the mounting plate holes. I drilled a pilot hole just slightly smaller than the minor diameter of the screws thread. Once mounted I took out the screws one by one and ground off the tip on a bench grinder because with the hatch slid all the way forward it came in contact with the screw tips.
I will send a pic to your email address.
