I was wondering if any one knows of an electric trolling motor that could replace the old out board on my CP16 that I have on a central Florida lake? Has anyone tried this?

There is good info around the site on electric motors.  We have changed from a 3hp stinky to a 35# thrust 12v motor guide with two 127 ah batteries wired in parallel...............   Has worked fine for us on CP-16 from small lakes to the Gulf of Mex...............     So far we are happy with the performance.  Doug

I have used a 55 thrust Electric Saltwater motor for 5 years.  It is great, no hassles.  I used the largest thrust at the time, with one battery for the motor and another for the running lights all hooked together by an A/B switch.

This year I put in two off the shelf solar panels from West marine and I have not removed either battery for charging this entire season
