I'm sure there are MANY more songs about sailing than I know of but over the past year or so there have been a few that really stick out to me and just make me happy to be a sailor. I would appreaciate it if you guys would contribute your favorite sailing songs!
My current favorites are......

Beyond the sea

Sloop John B

And while it's not really one of my favorites I thought I would include it

Any song on the radio while I'm sitting on my boat is a favorite right then. But if I had to choose it would be Southern Cross.

"The Ballad of Ruebin Clamso" by Arlo Guthrie.
There are a lot of songs out there. I make it a point not to listen to music while I'm sailing...the sound of the wind and water is enough for me. Southern Cross is a good one. I'm sure after I've finished this post, I'll remember 'em.

(ps: Great video of CSN...hard to beat those harmonies!!)

Agreed, no music while sailing, the wind in water is more than enough!!! Or a good conversation with my crew!

Little River Band's "Cool Change" is one of Tara's favorites.

The opening lines are "If there is one thing in my life that's missing, its the time that I spend alone - sailing on the cool and bright clear waters".  Some of the lyrics paint some romantic sailing images.  "Its kind of a special feeling when you're out on the sea alone staring at the full moon like a lover".
