Hi everyone.  I just wanted to let you know that I'm still hanging out in here and still reading this forum but I haven't posted much over the past 6 or 8 months.  You see, I got 3-foot-itis like many of you have gotten over the years, but I bought an old Alacrity 19 instead of a CP-19 and I've been working on that boat since about October.  I still have my CP 16 but I developed 3 cracks in the bottom of the keel last year from anchoring in shallow water with a rocky bottom.

So this years boat is the Alacrity.  I'm happy to report that she is not "slower than molasses in the winter" as some may have suggested in the past.  She's quite stable and when the wind kicks up she can be quite lively.  I enjoy sailing her at least as much or more than the CP-16.  I'll be sailing her this summer while I work on the CP-16 in the driveway.  I think I can fix the cracks in a weekend or two, but I'm going to leave her on the hard all year.  I'm thinking I'll take my time and customize the cabin.

Anyway, here's a pic of the Alacrity and the sail rig that I made for her.  I'll be posting more about it on my blog for those who are interested.

P.S.  Yes, those are antlers mounted on the top of the mast :-D

Hi Frank,
Here are two close matches.
http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/boa/1756609625.html
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/boa/1770105973.html

I got them at http://free-sailboat-listings.com/search

When you want to search for a phrase like "twin keel" or "twin keeler" you must put it in quotes or it searches for both words separately.  It's a great tool for finding sailboats.

I'm sorry to hear that you sold your CP-16.  I don't think I could ever sell mine but I guess there are many who only have room for one boat at a time.  I like to have a boat in the water that I can sail and one on the hard that I can tinker with.  It's an addiction really :-D

I'm glad you've enjoyed my blog.  Knowing that folks like it makes it more enjoyable to continue writing it.

I'm 5' 10 185 and I can sit comfortably and move around in it.  Overall, the cabin is prolly twice the size or better than the CP-16.   You could lay straight in the starboard quarter berth but there's not going to be any rolling around.  On mine, the forward sleeping area (port side)  was removed and the entire v-berth was raised a few inches to keep it dry for sleeping.  As far as trailering, I don't know.  My trailer was custom made and has an extended tongue.  I've only launched it so far.  I haven't retrieved it yet.  I bought those heavy duty blue and red canvas rafts to use as cushions inside.  They are light weight and fit nicely.  I bought 3.  One for each quarter berth and one for up in the V.

I am very pleased with it but I'm on a limited budget and all I'll ever do is day sail and weekend in it.  If I had the money and were going to buy a boat to weekend *and* spend a week at a time on, I'd almost certainly buy a Horizon Cat honestly.  I'd love to own one of those someday.
