I watch the sailboats in Ebay all the time.  This is a hell of a sales pitch.  Odds are, no one will take him up on it, and I'm sure that's why he put it up there like that.  But  I would just love to see an adventurous soul take the guy up on his offer and get this boat for free.

Awesome,  around the world in a boat made of metal, floating in saltwater, made in 1954, what could possibly go wrong :-)   Bidding is only up to about $4000

I'd like to look see at the keel, from the inside.
You know if she floats for three and one half more years at the dock, she just may have pulled it off.
Looks like a nice but very cold and noisy boat. Being metal. I wonder how the rig is? And "What kind of condition is the boat in? She is a project that sails!" I think I'll sail away. Six to ten gallons of fuel. Think it's sludgy? Not enough to get around Miss Liberty.
