I'll be on vacation from tomorrow until July 12th.  I have a seasonal campsite that I rent and I'll be staying there and doing a lot of sailing.  Here is a map that I made on google if anyone wants to take a trip and check out this rig that I built.

You are not too far from me, Ron (Allentown,Pa).  That is pretty country out there.  What size boat do you have?

I have a CP16 converted to a gaff rigged cat boat.  Not much wind today.  I'll prolly just hang out in the hammock and read "Black Wave" for a while and hope for a breeze later on.

I love vacation :-d

Yesterday was one of those days to remember.  The wind was blowing steady at about 10 knots from the south which is ideal for where I sail.  I had about 3 or 4 hours of a constant, beautiful steady wind.

Nothing remarkable happened.  It was just a wonderful day of sailing.  The destination was the sailboat, not any place on land or water.  Just the sailboat.  Up the lake, tacking back, over to this side, back up to that.

I made one of those home made furlers the other day and have my genny wrapped up on it.  It works really well for what I am using it for.  I'm using it primarily for downwind sailing instead of my spinnaker.  Since I moved my mast so far forward, the fore stay is at a different angle, so any hank on fore sail is at a different angle.  but basically, I can unfurl the genny and just let it puff up like a spinniker, either by itself or wing on wing.  I can also stick the whisker pole on it for a more stable ride.

I'm hoping for another good one today.  The wind is supposed to come from the south again but it is supposed to bring some thunderstorms along with it later on in the afternoon.  I'll find out soon enough I suppose.
