Anyone hear from David Serrell, aka dserrell, in a few weeks? Back in June he was planning a trip from South Dade Marina to Key West with his daughter, Kit. Coincidentally, I was towing my 23 from Daytona to South Dade Marina and was planning to launch from the same marina on the same day, June 17. We ended up meeting at the ramp, got the boats rigged and launched and headed out just a bit into Barnes Sound where we dropped anchor off of Main key and spent the night. We spent some great time eating, drinking and sharing sailing stories, and the kids were instant friends, diving and exploring the beach!

The next day we had to head back to Daytona, so by late afternoon, we parted ways, he and his daughter heading south by boat and me and my family heading north by car.

My wife and I were back down at South Dade the next week and saw that David's tow rig was gone, so I assume they made it back to the marina for the long tow back to Coats, N. Carolina, but I haven't heard from him since.

David, we're looking forward to your trip report! Hope all is well...

Now I'm having a hard time getting the kids back to the boat unless we're going to meet up with our "friends" in the other boat.  :)

Thanks for the trip report Greg.  Sounds like a great time!  Can't wait to hear from Dave too.
Cheers,
