Hi, This is my first post.  I am an new owner of a Picnic Cat.  I spotted my new boat while in the Keys on vacation at a dealer and had to have one.  I wound up taking it out for a demo while down there and buying it over the phone after returning home.  I have been out of sailing for several years and look forward to the new boat.  I will be sailing it in SE NC mostly in the coastal bays, sounds, and waterways in the area. Good morning sailors, well you guys are practically neighbors!
I'd like to share my enthusiasm for the Picnic Cat.
She is a very fine sea kindly boat for sheltered waters.
She is great looking and caught my eye the moment I saw
one at Yacht Works in Sister Bay, Wisconsin sitting on the
sales floor and completely rigged. The hull was dark green.
I think the boat sells itself. A lot of room for people.
Wow! I said looky here. And proceeded to drool for a while.
I do sail a CP-19 XL that I bought off the lot. I considered
a CP-23 with a diesel auxiliary but didn't have the scratch.
Welcome aboard Mark. Post often. 6" of snow today. skip.

Today was the big day for me.  I met the delivery guy in Hilton Head SC to pick up my new boat.  He drove it up from Key Largo and had the large half by a large measure.  Even so, 330 miles each way made for a long day.  Thank you for your replys Skip and David.  Where is Coats NC?  I plan to visit most of the same launches you mensioned althogh Topsail is much closer to home and will likely be my first lauch.  I know most of these areas well as I kayak in all often.  I have to check out the motor, figure out stowage stuff, figure out how to flush the motor after use,  and then get the new boat wet.  I am curious, does one trailer with the motor on the motor bracket and the rudder attached, or are these normally removed to trailer?

thanks,

Mark

Welcome to the Com-Pac family. I have seen the picnic cats being built at the plant and they are built in the Com-Pac tradition of strong and safe.  HAPPY SAILING   BILL
