Charter groups in the BVI usually have the masts shortened and the sail re cut as this modification gives the insurance company that carries the paper on the boat a feeling that their investment is somehow protected...it's like a throttled governor on a rental U-Haul truck. But that sure sounds like fun. I'd like to do the same thing but I want to sail a Nonsuch 30 footer. More sailing less work me thinks.

They want you to be safe...yes a sad but happy day to give up your Com-Pac...but they make them every day. skip

Well, for what they want to charge for insurance, you'd swear I was taking her into a hurricane!

One quote wanted $325 for insurance for only a week!
