Is there some sort of color code for what line does what?

Most of all my lines need replacing and I was wondering if there is some sort of color code or do you just get whatever color you want?  I have looked on the web and can not find one single mention of a color code.  Maybe I have not looked in the right places, but it seems that there should be one.  I crew on a larger boat with a lot more lines than a dinghy, but I know what line does what because I am use to it.

ComPac 19:

Jib Halyard  - port side - red and white
Main halyard - starboard - green and white
Roller furling - blue and white
Main Sheet - solid color, mine is blue
Jib sheets - solid color - white
Spinnaker Halyard - green and white

Having these sheets, lines and halyards color coded is helpful, for safety and convenience.  last night I was sailing with the spinnaker and man what a bunch of lines running all over.

The above colors were original to the boat and when I replaced I tried getting exact replacements for size, material and color.
Sheets are usually softer and larger diameter for comfort.  Halyards are usually smaller diameter and more tightly woven

Yea, I don't think there is a "standard."  But, I agree with Marcus that you can make your own standard.

I use Sta-Set for the halyards:  red thread (running through the braid) for main halyard, green thread for jib halyard.  These are stiff, thin, braided lines from New England Ropes with low stretch.  Main sheet is thicker material and much softer in all white (for tradition).  Jib Sheet is same thickness, but all purple, as this is my first mate's favorite color.  She usually handles that line.
