There's a 16 in my area for sale for a VERY good price, but the trailer is about shot.  The A-frame is good, but it needs a new axle and crossmembers.  How much would refurbishment run, or would replacement be a better option (and how much would that run?)

Welcome Tortuga12

If by you are in Florida as you name may indicate you probably check with Hutchins co.. They are in Clearwater Florida and can give you the current price of a new trailer.  At one time it was $1,325.34 .  Replacing axle and associated parts on these trailers shouldn't be to expensive but if you have crossmembers that need replacing you the job price of fix could run into more than the trailer is worth.

Check the boat out carfully and if you see any major problems you might want to post a question concerning those problems.  You will find many knowledgable members on this site who have done wonders for their own boat.  Best of all they are ready and willing to give help where they can.

Luck on your hopfull new boat

Mrb's suggestion is a good option.  I try to get three quotes for a job, so #2 could be Northern Tool (they have axel kits in their catalog) and #3 could be Defender (they have trailer parts as well).  Both are online.  Google the names should get you there.  Disclaimers apply.

PS: Welcome to the site.  Enjoy!
