trolling motor for CP 16

I am a new CP 16 owner and plan on mooring her on a lake in Minneapolis where no gasoline motors are allowed.  The boat has been wired for an electric motor, and I was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions on a make, model, shaft length, thrust required, wire guage required, and so on....

A Minn Kota Endura 30 seems economical providing 30 lbs of thrust and a 30" shaft.  Reviews are very good.  Would it be adequate to move the CP 16?  Further, has anyone ever explored solar battery charging?
