Greetings,

The ice is finally out on Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, so I had the opportunity to take my CP16 out for the first time!  The docks are not in the lake yet, so there was a little problem getting the boat into and out of the water.  Outside of that, what a great experience!  Winds were from 100 degrees at 17kts with gusts to 23kts.  A little more than I would have liked for the first time out, but the boat handled flawlessly and was very forgiving of my inexperience.  No traffic, we were
the only boat on the lake.  Looks like I'm in for a great summer.

Congrats, Gilby.
I plan on a Saturday launch of my  "Koinonia" (1985 23/2). Weather looks ok and the ship is just about ready. There's nothing quite like the first sail of the season, eh?

Wow! Those are some warm winds. especially for Minnesota!

17-23 are pretty breezy too!

Glad you had a good first sail, makes you look forward to many more.  Know what you mean by docks not in, so had a little trouble with launch and pick up.  Here in Arkansas on lake Dardanell there are no launches with docks.  It's wade in push the boat off and then move the boat down the beach to dock that is any where from ten to 20ft away, all the time hopping a speed boat doesn't pull up between you and the dock.  I mad special bow and stern lines about 30ft. long.  Can't complain because launch sites are free and the fishermen are nice when they cut you off.

Many more good sails
